SAT Prep Course offers study aids for the SAT in the form of software with a companion book. The program is easy to navigate, and includes full-length practice tests and explanations to answers.

Although this program is simple to use, when compared to other programs reviewed, it doesn't offer many of the extras, such as games, flashcards, or study plans. For a more complete preparation program see Kaplan's SAT/ACT/PSAT Platinum Edition.

Ease of Use:  

SAT Prep Course, offers few features to navigate, so the program is easy to use. You can quickly move through different areas of study by labeled buttons.

Feature Set:  

This software offers 17 math lessons that cover through Algebra II, reading comprehension activities and a writing analysis feature. It also offers full-length tests and answer explanations, but that's about it.

This product does not include any games to keep students interested. Other products offer ten times the features of this software.

SAT Prep Course is available by download only, so the download time depends on the quality of your internet connection. Our download went quickly, no hassles.

Help/Support:  

SAT Prep Course doesn't provide many support options. You can contact Nova for technical support and we found their support staff to be helpful, but FAQs and tutorials are not available.

Content Rating:  

SAT Prep Course only offers three areas of study: math, reading and writing.

Effectiveness:  

SAT Prep Course covers the basics of SAT preparation but does not attempt to address the ACT or PSAT. Although this product covers the general subjects of the SAT, it does not offer a variety of delivery methods or other effective learning tools such as file cards or study plans.

Summary:  

The redeeming quality of this program is its simplicity, it's easy to get through, but the simplicity also limits the features and options. This is why we recommend more effective products like WordSmart.
