SAT/ACT/PSAT Express Reviewer's Comments

Express is the defining term of this product, quick and easy, in comparison to Kaplan's Platinum and Gold Editions. This product from Topics Entertainment covers all of the subjects included on the SAT, ACT and PSAT and strives to deliver knowledge with speed, an excellent product for last-minute studiers.

This software contains the most up-to-date testing information and includes useful reviews, technique hints and guides. However, it does not include all of the features that the other editions include such as, admission and tuition guides and extra tests.

We originally reviewd the 2006 version of SAT/ACT/PSAT Express; however, Topics Entertainment has released its 2007 version.

Ease of Use:  

This product loads fast, just put in the first CD and a short evaluation test starts right up. The quick start test analysis your strengths and weaknesses to help you build a study plan that focuses on your problem areas. The program also has a verbal guide for assistance and the buttons are placed logically and easy to find.

Feature Set:  

The Express version of this software includes most of the features that you will find in the other editions such as flashcards, scoring analysis, full-length exams and performance feedback. Express covers all of the subjects needed and includes amusing games.

Kaplan's Express does not include extra tests for specific subjects and doesn't include information for college preparation such as admission, tuition and financial aid information.

Downloading this product only requires that you put in the first CD, after that, you are quickly on your way.

Help/Support:  

The program offers detailed and useful support within the program. The verbal guide also proved to be helpful and timely. What this software lacks is a tutorial and we found that reaching support by phone to be impossible. Fortunately, the help included in the program is complete enough to require little additional support.

Content Rating:  

Kaplan's Express includes reviews for English, math, science, reading, writing, verbal and vocabulary. Express covers all subjects in-depth. If you are in a hurry, this program will take care of you, but if you need a more extensive program see Kaplan's Gold Edition or Platinum Edition.

Effectiveness:  

SAT, ACT & PSAT is one of the most effective exam preparations available. This program streamlines everything the more extended versions offer into an express package that can stand on its own as a valuable learning tool.

Kaplan's SAT, ACT & PSAT 2006 Express delivers timely information in an efficient, effective program. If speed is your thing, then Express is your quick ride to success.
